about

Here lies some of jenghizkhan's tracks which were first selected for earcon's "Guillotar 1-4" album and then remixed by St Celfer including a symphony in the spirit of Lou Reed's 'Metal Machine Music'.

======================================

0.10 "A" + "B" = two releases brought together to make a single LP length, the bookends to Suites #1-9, a premonition of my upcoming live and improvised two track work made on the Step.4D.

In 1975 Lou Reed released Metal Machine Music claiming it was Classical. I think it is. Unfortunately, his ego, bruised by the reception to MMM, could not stand behind it until the last year's of his life.

The "Symphony" in 3 parts does stand behind the claim that this music is, indeed, rooted in the tradition through, most recently, John Cage, La Monte Young, and MMM.

My current project accidentally started in 2005 when one of the tracks in these compositions was captured live. It was from another world - I did not know what to do.

Why it's called 0 and 10. It's also a direct reference to Kazimir Malevich's '0.10' when he showed his ground breaking Suprematist works, including 'Black Square', for the first time. Check out the conversation with Tom Moody for more: (www.tommoody.us/archives/2020/12/04/on-breaking-the-square-a-conversation-between-john-parker-and-tom-moody/)

The 16 tracks for each musical piece were released previously and separately as earcon's last album, 'Guillotar', during a musical lull dredging up studio material from my last days in Brooklyn when I was surrounded by the mountains of vintage synthesizers and effects which I had accumulated over the years and that I finally had to sell to make ends meet. Many of those tracks also became the stems for St Celfer's Suites #1-9 (stcelfer.bandcamp.com/album/suites-1-9). The originals are presented here as the second 5 song "Mix" side to the LP.

Now realized during a pandemic as with other St Celfer's Suites, these are comprised of sounds projected on 16 speakers into the corners of a cubic space to form a beyond third dimensional music. This is the stereo version (and very limited interpretation) of St Celfer's music. See the 'live' version!

Meanwhile... This is for reference.
